Ahead of the Maharashtra assembly elections, the possibilities of an alliance between Prakash Ambedkar-led Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) and Asaduddin Owaisi-led All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) came to an end after state AIMIM President Imtiaz Jaleel issued a statement regarding the same.

In the statement, AIMIM informed that two parties including VBA and AIMIM “couldn’t reach a comfortable and respectable figure” of seat distribution while stating that VBA’s offer to contest the Maharashtra assembly polls on eight seats out of 288 was “unacceptable and unjustified”.

However, Prakash Ambedkar has rejected the same saying that their alliance is with Asaduddin Owaisi and the same will remain until they hear otherwise from the AIMIM supremo.

The seat-sharing issue is being resolved and until Asaduddin Owaisi makes a statement ending the AIMIM-VBA alliance, it will remain,” said Prakash Ambedkar.
