Serious allegations have been made by the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader and former housing minister Jitendra Awhad against Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena faction on Twitter.

On Friday, the former minister tweeted that Balasahebanchi Shiv-Sena (BSS) are offering INR 1 crore to former NCP corporators from Kalwa and Mumbra to lure them; a ticket for the upcoming Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) elections, and a work contract of Rs 10 crore.

The former housing minister’s tweet has created a stir in political circles.

It is being said that a strategy has been planned to defeat Jitendra Awhad, who is considered as an influential NCP leader from Kalwa and Mumbra, for the upcoming TMC elections. There are talks that some NCP corporators from Mumbra are planning to defect and have the support of the Shinde faction.
