Twelve persons have been tested positive for the coronavirus at Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar’s residence ‘Silver Oak’ in Mumbai. All those tested positive are the members of working staff including security staff and household workers.

Maharashtra Public Health Minister Rajesh Tope informed that the security personnel may have contracted COVID-19 from someone during one of Pawar’s tours. Sharad Pawar was also taken to Breach Candy Hospital on Sunday and his test results have come negative.

Tope said that Pawar has been advised to not go on any state tours for a few days. The minister said the NCP chief was safe and there’s no reason to worry. Some of the staffers who have tested positive have mild symptoms while others are asymptomatic. They have been shifted to NSCI facility at Worli.

On Monday, four people including a cook and two security personnel deployed at Pawar’s Mumbai residence have been tested positive for the coronavirus. Meanwhile, efforts are being made to trace those who came in close contact with the cook and security guards.
