Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, who established power in the state by abandoning Shiv Sena six months ago, has received a lot of support from Shiv Sena officials and former corporators in Thane district. Therefore, Uddhav's first visit to Thane city - which is currently known as Chief Minister Shinde's stronghold - and his speech during this visit will all be under radar.

Thane district is known as Shiv Sena's stronghold. The Shiv Sena has remained in power in Municipalities and Zilla Parishads including Thane, Kalyan-Dombivali, Ulhasnagar, Ambernath, Badlapur. CM Shinde took charge of the district after the death of Shiv Sena's Thane district chief Anand Dighe. Along with increasing the strength of the party in the district, he created his own influence. Due to this, after the rebellion, he got a lot of support from the district.

From Shiv Sena district chiefs to municipal councillors, all have openly supported him. Anand Ashram near Thane's Tembhi Naka which is considered as the main centre of Shiv Sena in the district, is also seen to be under Shinde's control. Even though six months have passed since the big rebellion in the party, Uddhav Thackeray did not visit Thane city. It is believed he will be visiting Thane on Thursday.

Late Thane District Chief Anand Dighe's birth anniversary falls on January 27 and on this occasion, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray has organised Maha Arogya Camp that will take place on 26 January at 10 am. This camp will be held at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Maidan at Jambli Naka in Thane. The camp will be inaugurated by party chief Uddhav Thackeray.
