Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, who established power in the state by abandoning Shiv Sena six months ago, has received a lot of support from Shiv Sena officials and former corporators in Thane district. Therefore, Uddhav's first visit to Thane city - which is currently known as Chief Minister Shinde's stronghold - and his speech during this visit will all be under radar.
Thane district is known as Shiv Sena's stronghold. The Shiv Sena has remained in power in Municipalities and Zilla Parishads including Thane, Kalyan-Dombivali, Ulhasnagar, Ambernath, Badlapur. CM Shinde took charge of the district after the death of Shiv Sena's Thane district chief Anand Dighe. Along with increasing the strength of the party in the district, he created his own influence. Due to this, after the rebellion, he got a lot of support from the district.
