Congress leader Urmila Matondkar has kicked off her election campaign ahead of the Lok Sabha polls which will be held this month. While campaigning on Sunday, Urmila Matondkar was seen riding an auto-rickshaw, appealing the public in Borivali’s Gorai area to vote for her in the upcoming LS polls this month.

Matondkar has been fielded by Congress to contest from Mumbai North constituency. 

The Bollywood actress stepped into active politics and has said that her fight is not against any person but ideology. Matondkar had opined that Congress’ ideology is better than that of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Urmila will be contesting the Lok Sabha elections against the sitting BJP MP Gopal Shetty. Earlier in 2014, Shetty won from the Mumbai North LS constituency and defeated Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam. In Mumbai, the LS polls will be conducted in the fourth phase on April 29 which has been declared as a public holiday.
