Come evening, Maharashtra will finally have its Chief Minister after a month of political drama as Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray will swear in as Maharashtra CM. As Thackeray takes his oath at Shivaji Park on November 28, here are six things you should know about the future Chief Minister:

First Thackeray to become CM

Uddhav Thackeray will be making history by becoming the first person in the Thackeray family to hold office as the chief minister. Prior to this, his son Aditya Thackeray had become the first person in the family to contest elections and become an MLA.

An Avid Photographer

The Shiv Sena chief has inherited the love for art from his father, Bal Thackeray who was a renowned cartoonist. Uddhav Thackeray has always been drawn towards photography. During his free time, Thackeray is said to be using his camera to capture photos. 

Uddhav Thackeray is a fan of aerial photography and on several occasions, he has travelled in helicopters to capture photographs. In one such incident, Thackeray nearly fell from the helicopter but luckily he managed to regain balance.

Took Photos of 28 Forts

In 2004, Thackeray had decided to take aerial photographs of forts across Maharashtra. The Shiv Sena chief had flown for 40 hours in 10 days to capture the beauty of 28 forts aerially. Throughout his adventure, Thackeray had clicked more than 4,500 photographs. Eventually, the photos were put on display at an exhibition at Jahangir Art Gallery in 2004.

Took Photographs In 0 degree Celsius

Uddhav Thackeray's passion for photography just took him to an extent where he decided to click photos in regions where the temperature had dropped to 0 degree Celsius. He had ventured Canada to capture a polar bear's photo and had endured 0-degree temperature to attain the perfect shot.

Thackeray has two photo-books published by his name. One is Maharashtra Desh (2010) and second is Pahava Vitthal (2011).

First Seen On Stage In 1991

While he had been volunteering for his father's party since he was a youngster, his first public appearance on stage was recorded in 1991. After 1991, he became an integral part of Shiv Sena's political happenings.

Handled the 2002 BMC Elections By Himself

His father had trusted Uddhav Thackeray with the responsibility to handle the 2002 Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Elections by himself and Shiv Sena won the elections that year. Owing to which, he was appointed as Working Chairman of the party.
