In order to create awareness regarding organ donation, the Federation of Organ and Body Donation will conduct an 'organ donation march' from February 23 to April 15. The march will begin from Mumbai and will conclude in Goa.

Mumbai residents - Shrikant Apte, Purushottam Pawar, Shailesh Deshpande, Chandrashekhar Deshpande, Priyadarshan Bapat, Avinash Kulkarni, Dutta Kulkarni and Nagpur’s Sharad Dautkhani - will be spearheading the march.

The march will begin at 9:00 am on February 23 from KEM Hospital and will conclude the march in Goa’s Panaji on April 15 after covering 826 km of Konkan. During this march, the group will stop at 52 halts and will make people aware of organ donation. This is the second year of the federation.


Last year, we had conducted the similar march where we had covered Nashik, Nagpur and Anandvan. During our awareness march, we conduct discussions, plays to create awareness amongst college students and citizens,” Sunil Deshpande, Member, The Federation of Organ and Body Donation.
