Based on the report by the Times of India, a senior transporter elaborated that the increase in prices of diesel is a travesty of the downtrodden and the middle-class population of the country that continues to be the prominent taxpayers in India.

Apart from Mumbai, several other locations across the country have witnessed a surge in their prices of fuel. Several reports attribute this rise in prices of petrol to the occurrences in the international market.
