India's Atul Edward has achieved another international medal in the first Indian Open Pickleball competition organised by ‘All India Pickleball Association’.



The competition was hosted at Jamnabai Narsee International School, Juhu.

The Thailand duo of Thitiworada Nakarawong and Suparat Baebdee won gold in the women’s doubles category. In the men’s category, Indian duo of Manish Rao and Bhushan Potnis had to settle for silver in the final.

The Mumbai trio of Atul Edward, Manish Rao and Bhushan Potnis, made their mark in the first international tournament.

Nikhil Singh retained his control after losing a match in every national game since 2013. Along with Prashant Talani, he defeated strong Indian pair of Manish Rao and Bhushan Potnis 11-7, 5-11, 11-5.

In the women's group, Thitiworada Nakarawong and Suparat Baebdee won gold by defeating Karishma-Rutuja’s team in straight sets 11-9, 11-8.

In the mixed category, British player Elaine Shallcross bagged another gold on an international stage.
