Tyrone Pereira emerged victorious in the quarter-finals of CCI-Greater Mumbai District Badminton Championship 2018. The tournament organised by the Cricket Club of India (CCI) and the Greater Mumbai Badminton Association (GBMA), Tyrone defeated Shivam Mirke and fixed his spot in the U-17 boys semi-finals.

Tyrone faced a tough blow as he lost the first game by 18-21 but he was adamant to continue through the tournament and won the next two games by 21-10 and 21-7 respectively. After losing the first game, he responded aggressively and took control in both the matches to which Shivam had no reply and lost the match.

Krisha Shah and Naisha Batoye have reached the quarter-finals in the girls under 15 years of age. In the pre-quarterfinals, Krisha beat Shreya Chari 14-15, 15-10, 15-12 whereas Naisha defeated Anishka Daga 15-1, 15-1 to proceed to the quarter-finals.
