India’s Vijender Singh and China’s Zulpikar Maimaitiali are set for an intense fight on Saturday, August 5 in Mumbai. The fight is called ‘Battleground Asia’ and carries a lot of weight as relations between India and China are a bit vulnerable at the moment.
Vijender has been taking digs at Zulpikar and has made a controversial comment by saying “Chinese products don’t last long,” this comment has surely not been taken lightly by the No.1 Chinese boxer. He has claimed that he will knock Vijender out in the early rounds and will show him what China is capable of.
Vijender is the current WBO Asia Pacific Super Middleweight champion whereas Zulpikar is the WBO Oriental Super Middleweight champion and whoever wins the upcoming fight will claim both the titles.Zulpikar is the WBO Oriental Super Middleweight champion and whoever wins the upcoming fight will claim both the titles.

Vijender claimed that Zulpikar is inexperienced but the truth is, Vijender has been a part of 8 bouts whereas Zulpikar has fought 9. Vijender has been underestimating the 23-year-old but let's hope the confidence helps him instead of turning against him in tomorrow’s fight.
It’s not going to be your regular fight. A lot is at stake and ‘Battleground Asia’ is surely going to be intense.
Venue: NSCI, Worli.
The fight will be telecasted on SONY TEN 1, SONY TEN 1 HD, SONY TEN 3 and SONY TEN 3 HD at 6:30 pm on Saturday, August 5.
