India’s first 270-degree panoramic movie theatre 'ScreenX' opens in Mumbai

One of the country fastest growing multiplex chains, INOX Leisure Ltd (INOX), has launched India’s first ScreenX theatre at its multiplex at Inorbit Mall, Mumbai.

ScreenX technology offers a panoramic 270-degree movie watching experience to the audience and allows the audience to go beyond theme of the traditional movie screen, utilizing a proprietary system to expand select scenes of feature films to the left and right walls on each side. ScreenX is the world’s first multi-projection theatre technology designed to enhance the movie-going experience.

In a recently held development, INOX signed a deal with CJ 4DPLEX earlier this year to bring the first ScreenX to India.

The deployment of ScreenX technology would allow the movie scene to spread beyond the cinema screen on to the left and right walls of the cinema hall and offer a spectacular panoramic view. While offering a maximized immersive experience, the 270⁰ view would not only amplify the emotional aspect but also enhance the entertainment value of the content.
