On Wednesday, October 17, 2018, the Google-owned website with a billion hours of content watched every day - suddenly crashed. #YouTubeDOWN was among the top trends on Twitter India.
The hugely-popular video platform Youtube suffered a serious outage this morning when the users tried uploading or watching content. Many users complained of seeing '500 Internal Server Error' messages popping up on the screen. Finally, after two hours of wait, Youtube resumed its services.

For now, YouTube has offered no explanation as to what went wrong, but the company did acknowledge the outage in a short statement.
