Railway services will be disrupted to a large extent due to the mega block on Sunday. A five-hour jumbo block has been announced on the Western Railway between Santacruz and Goregaon stations.
During this five-hour jumbo block, all fast trains on the Western Railway line will be diverted to the slow line between Goregaon and Santacruz. Apart from this, many suburban trains are likely to be cancelled, which is likely to cause congestion and inconvenience to passengers.
This block will be on both the up and down fast lanes from 10 am to 3 pm on September 7. A lot of work will be done in this five-hour block.
Railway officials have informed that important track, overhead equipment, and signal maintenance work will be carried out. They said that they are taking up the block as these works are important for the safe operation of local trains and the railway network. Railway officials have advised passengers to plan their journey accordingly to avoid inconvenience.
