The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has been constantly supporting the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) in terms of finance. When the bus corporation was on the verge of a financial crisis, the municipal corporation assisted the transport wing in every possible manner. And it is no surprise that once again, the civic body has come to BEST Corporation's rescue.
The civic body has shown readiness to provide ₹10 crore to BEST for repairs of its employees' quarters. However, BMC has stated that if the transport wing will submit payment receipts and BMC will reimburse the expenses in phases.

Previously, the municipal corporation has provided an interest-free loan of ₹1,200 crore along with financial aid of ₹600 crore in the last one year. Now, the civic body has agreed to assist the bus corporation to reimburse repair expenses.
During the FY 2019-20, a provision of ₹10 crore had been set aside for the repair of BEST employees' residences. Prior to that, BEST had spent ₹1,09,01,948 for repairing extremely dilapidated residences during FY 2018-19. After which, they had submitted all the documents and bills to the municipal corporation who approved a grant of ₹1.86 crore in April 2019.
