On Monday morning, December 4, around 7:30 am, motorman on a Kalyan-bound train saw the iron rods first and alerted the other motorman on the CSTM-bound train by flashing its alert light. Immediately, the motorman on the CSTM-bound train responded in no time and the accident was averted.
CR has filed an FIR in this regard with GRP under section 150 of the railway act. DRM Sanjay Kumar Jain has announced a reward for both the motormen. Along with this, RPF officials have taken these rods for an inspection and an interrogation is going on with the help of GRP officials.
This was not the first incident that took place on Central Railway. Earlier, some miscreants had placed iron rods on railway tracks between CSTM and Masjid station and the same happened at Diva station.
