According to the latest reports, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Transport Authority (MMRTA) has declared a provisional aggregator license to four companies including the likes of Ola and Uber in order for them to operate taxi services in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR).

Based on accounts, apart from the companies mentioned above, Meru Mobility Tech Pvt Ltd and Mahindra Logistics Ltd are other companies that have been given the license in the Central government’s Motor Vehicle Aggregator Guidelines-2020.

Back in March, the Bombay High Court asked all app-based cab aggregators to apply for a valid license for them to be able to ply in Mumbai. It has been reported that following this order by the judiciary, the companies applied for the license.

An official has been quoted in reports elaborating on how a meeting was conducted in the Mantralaya earlier this week wherein the representatives of the companies were present and they reportedly assured to fulfilling the requirements to obtain the license.

In accordance with this, the MMRTA provided provisional aggregator licenses to those companies that adhered to the major conditions. They have been given 30 days to comply with the conditions remaining. If they don’t do so their provisional aggregator license will be revoked, said the official, highlighted narratives.
