The number of passengers on the Dahisar–Andheri West Metro Line 2A and Dahisar–Gundavali Metro Line 7 has been steadily increasing over the past few months. On September 16, a record 3,40,571 passengers travelled on these two lines the highest single-day ridership so far.

Metro Lines 2A and 7 were launched in two phases between 2022 and 2024. Initially, the response from commuters was low, with only around 30,000 passengers using the service daily. To boost ridership, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) introduced various measures, which have helped steadily increase passenger numbers over the last year.

Before crossing the 3-lakh daily ridership mark, several high records were noted 2,69,230 passengers on August 8, 2024, 2,92,575 on October 7, 2024, 2,94,681 on June 18, 2025, and 2,97,600 on June 24, 2025.

The 3-lakh mark was first crossed in July 2025, with 3,01,127 passengers on July 8, followed by 3,11,305 on July 15, which was the highest at the time. The latest figure of 3,40,571 on September 16 has now set a new record for daily ridership on these lines.
