The number of vehicles, both public and private, have increased in Mumbai over the last few years, and as a result, many citizens, time and again, have complained about not getting enough space for car parking. However, there is a piece of good news for Mumbaikars, as they will soon be able to book car parking spaces using their mobile phones, and this move is likely to bring great relief to the people. Earlier, in March, BMC invited suggestions from people to improve the planning related to parking in Mumbai.

According to the information received, this facility for car parking will be ready in a period of three years and space will soon be available in Mumbai. Citizens, with a single click on their mobile, will be able to block parking space. It is said that the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has appointed a committee of experts to plan the same and by 2024, the committee will study the problem of parking in Mumbai, post which this would become a reality.

Understanding the parking concerns in Mumbai and with an increasing number of vehicles, the corporation has decided to set up a parking authority that will be involved in the planning of parking lots. The decision to form an authority will be taken soon by the committee, which will also be responsible for providing information about the development of the mobile application.
