In order to provide relief to the commuters, the railway administration has now decided to set up a dedicated room for Automatic Ticket Vending Machines (ATVMs)

There is no denying that queues for buying tickets at railway stations in Mumbai are a nightmare. In order to provide relief to the commuters, the railway has already introduced UTS application for mobile phones and Automatic Ticket Vending Machines (ATVMs). 

Moreover, the railway administration has now decided to set up a dedicated room for ATVMs in order to avoid congestion for purchasing tickets. 

According to Central Railway, 68 rooms for ATVM will be built across 27 suburban stations. Currently, there are 602 ATVMs in CR and they are installed near the ticket windows or at random spaces in the railway station which leads to congestion.

In order to avoid the same, the railway will construct a separate room for the ticket vending machines while each room at every station will have at least four to five ATVMs.
