It's time to rejoice for travellers who commute by railways, as now they can get 5 per cent off on their mobile ticket. Railway administration is looking out for ways to boost e-tickets and therefore have offered the discount.

The Ministry of Railways provided mobile ticketing facility to prevent passengers from standing in queues for the tickets at the station. It has decided to give 5 per cent additional bonus on the wallet recharge to give impetus to the usage of e-tickets. Notably, railways has been getting a good response to their initiative.

Smart cards, ATVMs, JTBSs are also available for the local ticket and the number of users downloading UTS apps has reached over 12,54,000 with 54,10,000 mobile tickets being sold in 2018-19. However, due to a large number of passengers responding to the facility day by day, Western Railway has given an extension of 6 months for the scheme.
