As predicted by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Mumbai witnessed heavy downpour on Friday morning which has affected almost all the parts of the city. At 10:45 am, Ahmed building in Fort near Lokmanya Tilak Road collapsed.

The 4-storey building is opposite the office of Commissioner of Police. No injury has been reported yet and Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB), Ward staff and Police have been deployed at the area.
Recently, a part of 3-storey Yusuf building in the neighbouring Crawford Market had also collapsed. 17 people had been rescued and no casualties were reported. More details are awaited on the Ahmed building collapse.
