On Friday morning, the city experienced a horrific incident where a stampede on a foot-over-bridge led to 22 deaths with over 36 people being injured near Elphinstone Railway Station. People were rushed to KEM Hospital and chaos engulfed the city once again. Railway Minister Piyush Goyal visited Mumbai as people were left stunned by the scenario.
A few years ago, people tweeted to the officials asking them to fix the bridge where the stampede took place. Of course, the officials being as ignorant as they are, their requests were ignored and today, we are left with 22 dead people who were just continuing their routine. A Facebook page also addressed this issue years ago but nothing was done about it. Here's the link: We want a better Bridge on the Parel Railway Station
Many had flagged this issue to State Govt / railways. A friend had even forwarded a complaint to PMO office #elphinstone #PatheticGovernance pic.twitter.com/hW31rUiMve
