Mumbai's first digital valet parking in Dadar has allegedly been shut down by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) because of heavy rainfall this month, reported the Free Press Journal. This decision has reportedly not gone well with residents and traders alike, with the Dadar Vyapari Sangh (DVS) voicing its discontent on how it may lead to traffic congestion in the vicinity.

Based on the account, the trader's body is in discussions with the civic body and the traffic police to reopen the facility soon. To address the traffic menace in Dadar which is a shopping hub, the digitised valet parking facility was commenced at Kohinoor PPL

It opened in collaboration between the civic authority, the Mumbai Police and DVS. During its opening in May, narratives claim that over 50 vehicles that were made of the facility which is the civic body deemed a positive response.

A civic official from the G-North ward was quoted in the report elaborating on how the heavy rainfall in the past fortnight compelled them to shut the facility. He added that not only had the number of visitors reduced, but the business was also slow during the same period.

It has been reported that the BMC had plans to offer similar services at four additional locations in Dadar and Shivaji Park. According to narratives, while the BMC operates 29 public parking lots (PPL) across Mumbai, many citizens continue to park their vehicles on the roads which lead to traffic congestion.
