The Maharashtra government on Wednesday issued fresh guidelines allowing the shopping malls and market complexes to reopen from August 5 under ‘Mission Begin India’ which is aimed at unlocking the economic activities in the state.

In Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) and rest of the state, the malls and market complexes will be operational without theatres, food courts and restaurants from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Although the Mumbai local train services remain prohibited for the general passengers, the state government continues to allow bus services for intra-district travel with the capacity of maximum 50 per cent while undertaking social distancing and sanitation measures.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) also released guidelines allowed yoga institutes, gymnasium to reopen from August 5 under ‘Unlock 3.0’ while the other restrictions will continue in and outside containment zones.

The MHA has issued fresh guidelines keeping the religious, social, political, sports, entertainment, academic and cultural gatherings prohibited. As per the order, large gatherings remain prohibited except for marriage and funeral related gatherings with a limit of 50 and 20 people, respectively.
