The state government of Maharashtra recently permitted fully vaccinated citizens to enter shopping malls across the country. This decision was implemented from Sunday, August 15, 2021, however, reports stated that the children were not allowed at the malls, which raised concerns for the visitors.

Clarifying the same, the government, in a notification issued on Monday, August 16, 2021, said that the children can enter the malls upon showing valid age-proof IDs like PAN, Aadhar, school or college IDs etc. A detailed report regarding the same was published on the Free Press Journal, which mentioned that the vaccination for the population below 18 years of age had not begun yet and considering the same, children below 18 had to produce age proof to enter the malls.

As of now, shopping malls in Maharashtra have been allowed to remain open until 10.00 pm whereby all visitors and staff members should be fully vaccinated and have to produce the certificate for the same with a valid photo ID.

Besides this, the civic body in Mumbai, on Monday, August 16, 2021, further relaxed the operational hours for beaches, gardens, playgrounds in the city. As per the revised guidelines issued by Municipal Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal, these locations can remain open from 6 am to 10 pm, an extension from the previously announced hours (until 9pm) in June 2021.
