Commuters can opt cashless and cardless payments across tolls in Mumbai

Booths like LBS Toll, Vashi Toll, Airoli Toll, Dahisar Toll, Mulund Toll, and Bandra Worli Sea Link have partnered with ePaisa for payments as MEP Infrastructure plans to enable cashless payments to ensure ease for commuters.

Cardless and cashless payments have become a convenient mode of payment for many across the world. While many services in the city opt for cashless payments, several toll plazas will also be following the trend, thereby making it easy for commuters.

As per updates, LBS Toll, Vashi Toll, Airoli Toll, Dahisar Toll, Mulund Toll, and Bandra Worli Sea Link will now accept cashless and cardless payments, as ePaisa has partnered with MEP Infrastructure to enable the same. Commuters across the city can now pay their toll charges instantly by simply scanning the ePaisa QR code placed at the MEP toll payment, counters using any of the UPI payment apps.

The ePaisa QR code payment will help in immediate debit from the commuter's account and credit into MEP Infra Pvt Ltd‘s account. Through this initiative MEP Infrastructure Pvt Ltd and ePaisa, both are aiming to cover a maximum number of vehicles who deal with only cash transactions, thus helping the transport sector’s transition into digitalization. Both companies also want to promote faster payment through digital mode so that vehicles can move through seamlessly.

Talking about the same ePaisa's Chief Business Officer Pravin Kumar Bhandari stated that in the last few years they have witnessed UPI payment option gained great success in India and is used by all age groups. They feel that the QR code payment option can curb the cash transaction in this transport management vertical.

COO of ePaisa Shahin Kunnath stated that even though China is ruling the payment market, the Indian Government is giving equal opportunities to both small and large players unlike China, which is a booster for immediate growth in the payment sector.
