The state government has announced a policy to promote the use of artificial intelligence in the agriculture sector. Artificial intelligence will be used in various crops from this year's Kharif season. For this, the government is planning to provide loans to sugarcane farmers through district central cooperative banks in the first phase.

The state government has taken a strategic decision to promote the use of artificial intelligence in the agricultural sector and has made a provision of INR 550 crore in the budget. However, the provision is meager. Artificial intelligence has been successful in sugarcane cultivation on an experimental basis in the state. Therefore, the Agriculture Department, Vasantdada Sugar Institute and sugar factories are also favorable for the use of artificial intelligence for sugarcane cultivation.

Since the state government's provision for artificial intelligence is inadequate, there are plans to provide loans through District Central Cooperative Banks to sugar factories to encourage the use of artificial intelligence in sugarcane cultivation within their jurisdiction. For this, a joint meeting of representatives of sugar factories, representatives of district central banks and representatives of state cooperative banks will be organized.

What should be the criteria while providing loans for artificial intelligence for sugarcane crop in the first phase? What will be the role of the State Cooperative Bank in providing money for loan provision?  Various issues such as whether loans can be recovered (repaid) from sugarcane bills by coordinating with banks and factories for loan repayment will be discussed and decisions will be made.
