When will the bogus pathology labs shut in the state?

On one place where central government reduced the prices of the stent in order to make it available at lower prices, generic medicines were also made mandatory. However, both state and central government are not serious about the mushrooming bogus pathology labs. ‘Maharashtra Association of Practising Pathologist and Microbiologist’ (MAPPM)association wants the state and central government to take action against the illegal labs. “We have been demanding from long but no action has been taken against these bogus labs. It is because of the state government’s lackadaisical attitude,” said Dr. Sandeep Yadav, president, MAPPM

“The state government had formed a committee headed by Dr. P T Wakode to study about bogus pathology labs. The committee then sent the report to the government. But nothing was done post the report submission blaming the association,” added Yadav.
