Agripada police recently arrested a 56-year-old class four employee of a government hospital for allegedly cheating the Mumbai’s civic body. It is alleged that in 1984, Bijendrasingh Birsingh Vaidya obtained a government job by submitting a forged school leaving certificate

Vaidya was appointed as the head of cleaning staff at Kasturbha Hospital, but the hospital officials learned about his fake school leaving certificate in August 2018 when they sent his details for verification. It is being reported that the school principal confirmed with the hospital about the forged certificate.

Upon knowing the same, Chandrakant Pandurang Pawar, the hospital’s medical superintendent, filed a complaint with the public health department about the forgery on. His complaint stated that Vaidya submitted a forged document in 1984 and has been making use of all perks since his job in 1988.,

Vaidya has been arrested for the charges of forgery and cheating. Talking about the same, Senior Inspector, Sawlaram Agavane, said "Acting upon Pawar's complaint, the police have registered a complaint against him on February 12 and arrested him, after which the court had ordered him police custody till February 17. On Sunday, the court has sent him on judicial custody."

Police is investigating the matter to find out more about the forged certificate and the involvement of government officials, if any.
