On Monday, October 11, Mumbai zonal director of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Sameer Wankhede, along with his seniors, met with the state director-general of police Sanjay Pandey. He complained that few people are following him for the past few days.

Reportedly, along with him, NCB Deputy Director General Mutha Ashok Jain was also present. CCTV footage showing him being followed was provided to the DGP, state accounts.

There has been a war of words between Wankhede and Malik wherein Nawab Malik has alleged collusion amongst the BJP and NCB in the drug case arrest of Aryan Khan. Malik's son-in-law was arrested by Wankhede earlier this month in connection with a narcotics case. He was behind the bars for six months.

Recently, he has busted a cruise drug party and arrested Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's son, Aryan Khan, and his friend Arbaaz Merchant in the drug case. Aryan Khan was arrested last week, and was sent to the NCB custody till October 7. Aryan Khan will remain in Arthur jail after his bail plea was rejected on October 11. His bail request will now be heard on Wednesday, October 13.
