The Commission stated that Dr. Payal Tadvi's family could not produce any documented proof of written complaints to the two faculty heads against the ragging that she was facing. MSHRC chairperson M.A. Sayeed stated that the two doctors i.e. Dr Yi Ching Ling and Dr SD Shriodkar who were also accused in the case, have explained their circumstances and placed their side with the help of their lawyers. They have further conveyed that they never received any complaints from the family, over the course of one year of alleged harassment.

Notably, after the Dr. Payal Tadvi suicide case came to light, civic-run hospitals have rolled up their sleeves and are trying to ensure students' well-being. It was alleged that Dr. Payal Tadvi had complained about mental harassment to the senior authorities but it had fallen to deaf ears. B.Y.L. Nair along with four other civic-run hospitals i.e. KEM in Parel, LTMG in Sion, HBT Cooper in Juhu and Nair Dental Hospital have joined in to outsource counsellors from Thane's Institute of Psychological Health (IPH). IPH will initiate a mental health programme for over 6,000 resident doctors and several MBBS students.
