Pratik Gandhi's 'Scam 1992' becomes the only Indian web series to feature in IMDb’s List Of All-Time Favourite shows

As per reports, a total of 163 titles have been included in the list.

Applause Entertainment's show on Sony LIV, Scam 1992, based on Harshad Mehta, has become one of the highly-rated web series to be listed on the IMDb. The series was a part of the list curated based on the best web and TV shows of all times. 

India Times published a statement quoting IMDb Founder and CEO, Col Needham, which read, "...our #1 user-rated Indian web series of this year, Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story, has been so popular that it landed a top spot on the IMDb list of the Top 250 TV Series of all-time." As per reports, a total of 163 titles have been included in the list and this is the one Indian entry.

Sharing his excitement about this, lead actor Pratik Gandhi who played the role of Harshad Mehta told Bollywood Hungama, “We knew we were doing a sincere job of it. But we could never guess it would go this far."

"...Also, this is the biggest project that I’ve done in my life. All these reasons were more than enough incentive to do the project,” he added.

The interview said that Pratik had to undergo physical prepation for the role, and since he was too lean for the character, the director, Harshad Mehta, asked him to gain 18 kilos for the role. Post eating a lot for the role, he put on weight and had a belly for Harshad Mehta. 

Scam 1992 was loved by both the audience and critics in India, and the crew was felicitated with several awards over the year. The show was an instant hit and the title track was used by several influencers and users on social media. Besides Pratik, Scam 1992 also starred Shreya Dhanwantary, Nikhil Dwivedi, Rajat Kapoor, Sharib Hashmi, Anant Mahadevan, Paresh Ganatra, Anjali Barot, Satish Kaushik, and many others.
