The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation’s (BMC) education department on Wednesday, February 16, took to Twitter to announce that according to the Right to Education Act for the academic year 2022-2023, the free admission process has started for 25 per cent reserved seats in private primary schools.

According to the social media post, an aggregate of 6,469 seats is available in the 343 eligible schools in mumbai. For the same, the authority has established 53 guidance help centres for assistance in the admission process.

Based on accounts, an appeal is being made on behalf of the administration that the concerned parents should apply for the admission of the child. Parents have to complete the required documents for admission.

The form is expected to be filed online from the RTE portal. It has been claimed in narratives that no documents are needed to be uploaded with the application. Parents have been given the facility to select the district on the Help Desk option on the website to access the list of help centres that have a free application facility.

The circular is reported to read that those parents who can apply online do not need to visit the help centre. Adding that they should read the information on the website carefully before applying.

The concerned parties are expected to regularly visit the website to apprise themselves of the latest information about the admission process. On the other hand, children who have already been admitted to a school under 25 per cent RTE will not be able to re-apply.

Admission will be cancelled if one is found to have re-entered by filling in the wrong information in the admission form. Education Officer Raju Tadvi has appealed on behalf of the corporation administration to visit the website of the corporation for detailed information required for admission.
