Maharashtra school education minister Varsha Gaikwad announced that the department has signed an MoU with Infosys, a software company, to help build digital infrastructure in government schools.

This development by the state education department is a part of its Springboard program which focuses on digital literacy and reskilling.

Releasing an official statement, Gaikwad shared: “The future of our nation is in the hands of our children and we want them to be able to reach for the skies.”

Elaboration further, Gaikwad stated that the department will also set up computer labs, robotics labs, language labs in our government schools as part of our school transformation mission.

Infosys would provide a learning management system for monitoring and distribution of educational courses for teachers and students.

“We've set up the Maharashtra State Education Technology Forum as an open platform for free exchange of ideas on the use of technology to enhance learning and assessment. Infosys will be providing learning management systems for monitoring and delivering educational courses for our teachers and students. Other than regular course material, students can access additional industry oriented courses. Teachers can access courses for reskilling and upskilling,” she added.

The delegation which met the minister included Thirumala Arohi, sr vice president and global head (educational training & assessment), Infosys, Kiran NG, programme manager- Springboard, Santhosh Ananthapura, Victor Sundaraj, Seema Acharya and Manorama Bhoi.
