One of the most anticipated fashion events of the year, Lakme Fashion Week, is back with the 2019 Summer/Resort edition. Amid the list of showcases, ace designer, Nikhil Thampi will also be presenting his collection at the grand event.

What makes the Spring/ Summer 2019 special for Nikhil's team is that it marks his return to Lakme Fashion Week after three years. Ushering in his return are a slew of meticulously crafted surprises, including the designer's departure from his signature monochromatic palette. Having sent moody hues and blacks down the runway for years, the designer will now be flooding the catwalk with a merry riot of summer-ready colours and thematic prints. 

This season, Nikhil Thampi Label brings to you a collection that shows the importance of ‘Semicolon’. The humble comma and dot in English grammar that facilitates the joining of disconnected phrases to form a sentence. Translated, it is a symbol of perseverance which depicts that life does not follow a linear path. In reality, there are dips, curves, jagged angles and skewed perspectives - phases that can leave us broken, but the semicolon makes us whole again. Metaphorically, it is a bridge over a void; it symbolises our evolution through personal chapters and helps us grow into complete individuals.

Known for his sharp and tailored cuts, this collection comprises of powerful styles like off-body silhouettes which cater to women of all shapes and sizes. The Spring/ Summer 2019 collection carries forward the designer's signature style of sharply tailored power dressing, but with elements of contrast. Form-fitted to off-body silhouettes, angular to curved panels, matte to shine, solid to print, monochrome to colour-blocking: the line is aimed at today's multi-dimensional urban woman who is confident in her skin, no matter what her body type, age bracket or work profile is. The NTL woman takes hard times in her stride and emerges stronger, inspiring others.
