Parel - Shiv Sena conducted best decorated Ganpati competition 2016 in South Mumbai ward. Winners were awarded on Tuesday. The criteria for the competition included - security for the devotees who turned up to seek blessing and the decoration of the mandal and Ganpati's idol. 19 mandal were part of the competition. Mayor Snehal Ambekar was present to honour the winners, Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal Sewri received First Prize. Present at the ceremony were Corporator Shweta Rane, Mandal's secretary Shrikant Jadhav, Treasurer Sandep Patekar, Vice-President Umesh Naik, Santosh Dharne and many others.
