The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) announced on Thursday, September 16, that all the government and BMC vaccination centres would be administering COVID-19 vaccines to only women on Friday, September 17. Centres will be open from 10.30 AM to 6.30 PM.

The centres will be open from 10.30 am - 6:30 pm.
All women can walk into the centres for their dose, online registration will be closed.
A few days back the health department, in a letter, asked Mumbai and Pune along with nine other districts to improve the vaccination for women.

Earlier this month, it was reported that the BMC was considering a special vaccination drive only for women to bridge the gender disparity in the vaccination numbers.
Even during International Women's day, there were five COVID-19 vaccination centres that were set up in five districts of the state, which were exclusive to jab women.

They took the step to celebrate International Women's day. The centres were operational only on the given day.
In the city, a Mumbai hospital for a day conducted free checkups for women police personnel. In August, BMC had done "vaccine on wheels" for the underprivileged and the vulnerable.
So far, nearly 47,13,523 women and 63,07,471 men are vaccinated in the city, as per reports. Up until September 13, 1,182 women were vaccinated in the city.
