Colleges in the state have resumed their physical classes from October 20, but the state government does not have complete data of the unvaccinated students across Maharashtra. However, Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope has assured that the public health department has sufficient vials to vaccinate all students on priority.

The health department, along with the higher and technical education departments, had announced 'Mission Yuva Swastha' from October 25 to November 2 to boost vaccination among college students. Since, the state lacks information about the number of unvaccinated students, Tope has asked the districts to submit the figure to estimate the requirement of vials for the drive.

Tope has said that they will gather the data within two or three days. The District Health Officers (DHO) has claimed that the college authorities do not have data ready which is why the process of compilation of data is getting delayed.

Suresh Kakani, additional commissioner of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), said they have two plans after the conclusion of the special drive. Either provide a separate time slot to the students at the already available vaccination centres or only hold the vaccination camps in college premises. They are yet to decide about the same.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra is looking for feedback from educational establishments regarding conducting the March-April SSC and HSC 2022 exams offline.
