Doctors in Mumbai conduct screening and treatment at police stations

Under the guidance of the MCGM, a team of doctors have effectively screened and treated more than 60 police stations. The initiative is a part of the joint venture by CREDAI-MCHI, Bharatiya Jain Sanghatana (BJS) and Desh Apnayen

As a part of the joint venture by CREDAI-MCHI, Bharatiya Jain Sanghatana (BJS) and Desh Apnayen under the guidance of the MCGM, a team of doctors have effectively screened and treated more than 60 police stations. In the midst of the coronavirus outbreak, the work done by the police force in the city of Mumbai has been exemplary. Many have also succumbed to the coronavirus while trying to protect the city.

The team of doctors have successfully tended more than 60 police stations which include Malad, Ghatkopar, Tilaknagar, Thane and Dombivli police stations. The effort has been commendable and a thorough check-up has been done of the police personnel.

CREDAI-MICHI, BJS and Desh Apnayen with the support of local corporators, MLAs, MPs from the ward Worli, Matunga, Dadar, Andheri, Borivali, Kandivali, Bandra, Mulund, Ghatkopar, Bhandup, Powai, Mira-Bhayandar, Kalyan-Dombivali, Ambernath have initiated to also screen and treat the police personnel through the Mobile Dispensary Service.

At the moment, there are about 57 medical practitioners who are working and an estimated 3,46,285 patients have benefited from these 57 Mobile Dispensary Seva Vans. This initiative is also being implemented at the national level by the Bhartiya Jain Sanghatana.

From April 1 till now 12,70,587 patients have availed this service. Meanwhile, 14,291 patients have been advised to go to government hospitals as suspected patients. So far, 227 mobile dispensary vans have been used with the help of 227 doctors.
