We at T-Series dedicate this success to my father, Gulshan Kumar: Bhushan Kumar

In a recently held event, the team at T-Series celebrated their achievement of receiving 100 million subscribers and emerging as the world’s biggest YouTube channel. The team was felicitated with the Guinness Book of World Records.

India's popular music label and film production house, T-Series, became the first channel to receive 100 million subscribers on YouTube, thereby emerging as the world’s biggest YouTube channel. In a recently held event, the team at T-Series was felicitated by the Guinness Book of World Records, for the same. Present at the event were Bhushan Kumar, Vinod Bhanushali, Divya Khosla Kumar and others. 

The production house which was started many years back by legendary musician, Gulshan Kumar, has today achieved newer heights in the entertainment space. He started by offering a new 'devotional' genre to the music lovers and spiritual souls in the country. Remembering his father and his teachings at the event, Bhushan Kumar said, "My father had the passion for music. He used to always tell us that 'Music is my life.' Today he isn't here with us, but it has always been our responsibility to take his vision ahead. He always wanted to educate and reach out to people via music, and this learning has always been with us. To be honest, my passion or business earlier was never related to music, but what he has taught is supporting and guiding us even today. Whenever we are successful in music and films, I always remember him and realise that he is with us always. We all at T-Series dedicate this success to him."

Adding to this thought, he said, "My father always wanted T-Series to be an 'entertainment' company and not just cater to music. Today, we are able to understand the audience and their thinking, needs and a lot more, which is why we are able to venture successfully in the film space in today's time."

There has been a competition between T-Series and YouTuber PewDiePie with regards to reaching the #1 position. But on being asked if he believes in the same, he said, "I have always told the media and everyone that there is no meaning to the competition between us as PewDiePie. T-Series is a music company and we can never compare our achievements to an independent contributor. We are #1 as a company and he is also #1 in his own space."

An elated Vinod Bhanushali, President – Marketing, Media and Publishing (TV) and Music Acquisitions, T-Series had earlier said, “This achievement rightly proves that CONTENT IS KING. It was Gulshanji’s vision to promote new talent, create content in the form of music and films that consumers will love. Content creation that started in 1984, became available to everyone with easy navigation with just a click on YouTube. To ensure we feed the audiences with fresh content every day, we are making music via films that we are producing in-house, acquiring music and bringing back the era of music videos/singles. We thank the entire Indian film industry and our teams for helping us and Indians world over for showering us with so much love.”

From making music to licensing and publishing content across several media platforms, T-Series offers a vast variety of content, and this one conglomerate looks after music production, music acquisitions, movie production to marketing and distribution.

With an exceptional run with films like Aashiqui 2, Hindi Medium, Tumhari Sulu, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Raid, amongst others, T-Series has close to 18 films lined up in 2019 and several which are under production for 2020. Highly anticipated films like Saaho, Street Dancer, Kabir Singh, Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior,  Batla House, Marjaavaan, amongst others, T-Series has collaborated with some of the biggest names in the industry to deliver new, interesting and varied content.
