Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Monday night informed that 50,000 industries have been allowed to operate in the state and nearly five lakh workers have started working there.
While speaking about the new business opportunities, Uddhav Thackeray during his address said that 40,000 acre of land is ready for new business and companies.
“We intend to promote ‘green industries’ and will provide them with permission in Maharashtra. We invite people to bring opportunities in the state. We will not keep any condition for such industries to start their operations and the land will be available to them on lease basis,” Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said.
Since the migrant workers and labourers are leaving the state due to the lockdown, the people of Maharashtra in green zones should join industries and compensate the shortage of workforce, Thackeray said.
“I want to request the people of Maharashtra to step forward and support the state and support businesses which need labour. We need to follow the idea of Aatmanirbhar. Maharashtra can set an example,” Uddhav Thackeray urged.
The Chief Minister further said that there will be no relaxation in the red zones. "The exemptions in Red zones are not affordable. Tough norms will prevail for areas in Mumbai and Pune," Thackeray said.
The Union Health Ministry has identified 14 districts as red zones, 16 as orange zones and six as green zones in Maharashtra. Earlier, Maharashtra Industry Minister has said that the industries will not be allowed in red zones as the state government can’t risk the same.
