Maharashtra Congress President Balasaheb Thorat on Friday took a dig at Union Minister Nitin Gadkari stating that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) wasn’t able to see the ‘ball’ in politics.

Earlier on Thursday, comparing cricket and politics, senior BJP leader Nitin Gadkari said that anything can happen in cricket and politics.

Anything can happen in cricket and politics. Sometimes you feel like you are losing the match but the result is exactly the opposite,” said Gadkari.

Gadkari’s remarks come amid the political turmoil in Maharashtra where Shiv Sena, Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) is drowned in meetings to form a stable government in the state.

Reacting to Gadkari’s statement, Thorat said that there is a difference between cricket and politics.

In cricket, you can see the ball coming and in politics, you don’t see the ball. This is what happened to BJP. They didn’t even see the ball,” said Thorat.

Earlier, after the imposition of President’s rule, BJP has become active in Maharashtra and is trying to form the government. BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis had said that the President’s rule is unfortunate and the people of the state will get a stable government soon.

Meanwhile, the three political parties – Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress – are working out a common minimum programme (CMP) to provide a stable government in Maharashtra.
