Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Devendra Fadnavis met on Friday afternoon in Pune’s Baner area for inaugurating a COVID-19 hospital. This meet has generated heavy speculations in the political circles.

Earlier on November 23 early morning, the last time two of them met each other shocked everyone in Maharashtra as they joined hands to form a government. Fadnavis and Pawar, both took oath as Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister, respectively, in the presence of Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari at Raj Bhavan.

However, the BJP-led government lasted for a few days making Fadnavis the only chief minister of Maharashtra to serve for such a short period of time. Pawar then went to Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar’s fold.

On Friday, Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) held the inauguration ceremony for a COVID-19 hospital. The event was attended by Pawar, Fadnavis and Maharashtra BJP chief Chandrakant Patil. Pawar was in attendance in his capacity as the Guardian Minister.

The Deputy CM said that the administration has been able to add 2,200 hospital beds in the last few days to provide treatment to the coronavirus patients. Pawar also expressed confidence in phase three of human trial for the Oxford vaccine which began in Pune.

Meanwhile, Fadnavis also praised the work carried out by Pawar and was quick to criticise the Shiv Sena for its work in Mumbai. He said that the major concerns are the positive rate of infection being 19 to 19.5 per cent.

Recently, the Pawar family got into a feud after Pawar senior slammed his own grandnephew for demanding the transfer of Sushant Singh Rajput death case to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Sharad Pawar called Parth Pawar - son of Ajit Pawar - “immature” and said that he doesn’t value what Parth says.
