After the orders to transfer 10 DCP-rank officers was reversed by the Maharashtra government, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Nitesh Rane slammed the state government claiming that this was not a government but a circus.

On Sunday, Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh informed that the orders to transfer DCP-rank officers of Mumbai Police by commissioner Param Bir Singh have been reversed.

This happened after Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray sought to know that the proposal was never submitted to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).

On Thursday, Police Commissioner Singh issued transfer orders of 10 DCP-rank officers. However, the order was reversed within 48 hours. This raised speculations of a rift between the allies in the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government.

Reacting to this, Rane took a dig at the MVA government while wondering whether the Home Minister knew about the transfer orders. This is not a government but a circus, he added.

Meanwhile, Devendra Fadnavis accused the Uddhav Thackeray government of lack of coordination over the decision to reverse transfer of 10 DCP-rank IPS officers of Mumbai Police.

He said that Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh should have briefed the Chief Minister properly. The transfer order was reversed due to lack of coordination or confusion and it can be an error on the part of the home minister.

It is learnt that Singh went to Matoshree on Sunday to meet Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
