The then Congress President Sitaram Kesari had agreed to give me the MP’s seat. We had agreed on a deal of four seats and at that time, Sharad Pawar was involved in the deal. However, soon Murli Deora told me that Pawar wanted to meet me. Accordingly, I met him and he expressed his desire to be involved in the deal.”
After the 1999 elections were over, Pawar found his way out of Congress. Ambedkar also said that making personal remarks are not going to help Pawar. Questioning the NCP chief questioned Pawar giving the ticket to BJP candidate Pramod Mahajan.
Meanwhile, he once again said that the party is ready to form an alliance with Congress. Speaking about whether any candidate will contest against the NCP candidate, Ambedkar said that they will make a decision about it soon.
In a war of words, Bharip Bahujan Mahasangh (BBM) leader Prakash Ambedkar struck down the claims made by National Congress Party (NCP) leader Sharad Pawar and called him "a liar". Dr. B.R. Ambedkar's grandson stated at the press conference at the party’s office on Monday.
Ambedkar was meanwhile referring to the statement made by Pawar,
“Prakash Ambedkar took NCP’s help in two elections that BBM contested in Akola and NCP workers helped him. Were they not secular at that time?”
