Battling the pandemic on an everyday basis for months now, CM Uddhav Thackeray has appealed to the people to celebrate Navratra, Durga Puja, Vijayadashami and Dusshera in a simplistic manner, just like Ganesh Chaturthi.

Thackeray further asked for the cooperation of the people so that the festivities can be celebrated without putting anyone’s lives in danger. Moreover, the CM stressed on the use of masks, adherence to social distancing norms, maintaining hygiene etc. Thackeray also asked the people to follow the instructions that are to be issued by the government in view of the festivities.

On the other hand, on Wednesday, September 23, Prime Minister Narendra Modi discussed the COVID-19 situation with the Chief Ministers of seven states. All the Chief Ministers, including Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray, briefed the Prime Minister on the situation in Maharashtra.

This meeting was held in order to review the status and the preparedness of the disease response and management. Moreover, more than 63 per cent of the active cases in the country come from these seven states/UTs, namely, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Delhi and Punjab.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra in the last 24 hours clocked 21,029 cases of the coronavirus taking the COVID-19 tally in the state to 12,63,799 cases.
