While campaigning ahead of the Lok Sabha election in Mumbai, there was a scuffle on Monday between the Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers at Borivali railway station. A verbal dispute was recorded between Congress and BJP workers while they were campaigning for their respective candidates. 

As the party workers clashed, the BJP workers started shouting “Modi Modi” while Congress workers also retaliated with slogans. However, the police had to intervene to get the situation under control. The police removed the workers of both national parties.

Congress candidate Urmila Matondkar is contesting for Lok Sabha poll from Mumbai North constituency against the sitting BJP MP Gopal Shetty. In 2014 national elections, Shetty had defeated Congress candidate Sanjay Nirupam by a margin of four lakh votes.
