Pneumonia Cases may rise in Maharashtra: CM Uddhav Thackeray

While addressing the citizens via web telecast, CM Uddhav Thackeray appealed citizens to cooperate with the state government and stay at home during the 21-days nationwide lockdown imposed by PM Narendra Modi in view of the coronavirus outbreak.

Amid the coronavirus outbreak in the state that has claimed 8 lives, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Sunday informed that there may be an increase in the number of pneumonia cases in the state. 

While addressing the citizens via web telecast, CM Uddhav Thackeray appealed citizens to cooperate with the state government and stay at home during the 21-days nationwide lockdown imposed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in view of the coronavirus pandemic. 

Furthermore, the Chief Minister stated that Maharashtra was facing a health emergency while appealing people to not leave their homes. However, Uddhav Thackeray said that there is no need to panic as the state government has enough stock of food and medicine. 

“There might be a sudden rise in pneumonia cases in the state. But don’t panic. We have an ample amount of food and medicine stock,” Uddhav Thackeray said during his address. 

The Chief Minister added that he has been talking to the Prime Minister and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to ensure proper coordination between the centre and Maharashtra government in the war against coronavirus. 

Prime Minister on Tuesday announced a nationwide lockdown in the view of the increasing cases of the coronavirus or COVID-19 due to which the migrant workers and labourers who are left with no work are suffering the most. 

Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray earlier announced that the government will take care of the migrant workers and will provide them essentials including food while appealing them to not leave Maharastra in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak. 

The Chief Minister also informed that the ‘Shiv Bhojan Thali’ will be served at 5 instead of 10. Earlier, Maharashtra Food and Civil Supplies Minister Chhagan Bhujbal also informed the same.
