On Monday, October 5, 2020, some fisherwomen gathered in front of Raj Thackeray's Krishnakunj residence in Dadar stating that people have illegally encroached their space in the fish markets, and now there was no space left to resume their business.

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena President Raj Thackeray has always been a people's person and over the last few weeks, many people from different walks of life, who are facing troubles due to the lockdown, have met the MNS chief. They express their grievances, with a hope to find solutions regarding the same.

On Monday, October 5, 2020, some fisherwomen from Mumbai met Raj Thackeray, demanding the solutions to the problems in their community regarding illegal fishing business. As per reports, a large crowd of women gathered in front of Raj Thackeray's Krishnakunj residence in Dadar on Monday afternoon and wanted to meet him. Upon receiving this information, he stepped outside to meet these women. 

The women complained that people have illegally encroached their space in the fish markets, and now there was no space left for locals to resume their business on a daily basis. Moreover, the business of fishermen has also reduced because of them and keeping this in mind, the women demanded a solution towards getting rid of these illegal businesses.

After listening to their worries thoroughly, Raj Thackeray has promised to solve the problem, after which the women departed from his residence.

Coronavirus outbreak and the following lockdown has made lives difficult for the people from this community. With no business or source of income for many months, men and women from the fishing communities have resumed work. While many returned to their hometown for some months, other needy locals took advantage of the opportunity and started a retail business of selling fish, food and vegetables. 

However, those returning back from the villages have faced difficulties, as most of the business has been taken away and the new ones have started functioning smoothly. With too many people in the same business, in one area, locals are facing space constraints, which often leads to clashes between them.
